Presumptive Eligibility (PE) makes it possible for eligible people to gain immediate access to medical services and medications for a temporary period of time. During this time, they should submit an application to be processed for on-going Medicaid coverage.
Clay County Public Health is a Qualified Entity that can determine if people are eligible and help them more quickly get access to healthcare. To meet with a staff member, call 816-476-4108 to make an appointment. No walk-ins will be accepted.
Who We Can Help
CCPHC can complete:
- Presumptive Eligibility for Children (PC)
- Children under the age of 19
- Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women, which could be either:
- TEMP
- Show-ME Healthy Babies
- These have the same coverage, but have different eligibility requirements.
- Important note: PE for pregnant women only covers ambulatory prenatal care (nothing so serious that it puts you in a hospital bed). PE will not cover hospital stays or delivery.
