    1. We do not offer any primary care physician services.  Our Physician Health Services clinic (formaly known as Primary Care) has bee transitioned to Samuel U. Rodgers Northland Health Center.  They are located at 4822 North Oak Trafficway, which is at the corner of Vivion Road and North Oak, between Good Will and Price Chopper.  For mor information on Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, please click here or call (816) 413-0662 for an appointment at their Northland location.  You can also seek services with most Truman Medical Center doctors.

    3. We offer immunizations at Clay County Public Health Center Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am on a walk-in basis (first come first serve) and from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm by appointment only.  We do have some extended hours on Monday and Wednesday night.  Please click here for more information.


    4. We offer tuberculin skin tests (TB test) at Clay County Public Health Center Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am on a walk-in basis (first come first serve) and from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm by appointment only.  We do have some extended hours on Monday and Wednesday night.  We are unable to place any TB tests on Thursdays. 
      When planning the best time to get your TB test, please make sure you are able to return within 48 to 72 hours after the test has been placed to have it read.  Please Click here for more information.



    5. Possibly.  Some areas of the world require certain vaccines before you can enter them.  Others have recommended vaccinations.  It is always a good idea to check before you go.  You should allow 4 to 6 weeks prior to departure to receive your vaccines.  We offer travel immunizations at Clay County Public Health Center Monday and Wednesday by appointment only.  Please click here for more information.

  2. Food Establishment Inspection Results


    1. Answer: Yes. Food establishment inspections are public records and available to the public. Files shall be made available for view (or copies made FEE MAY BE CHARGED) when a Missouri Sunshine Law Request form is submitted. In the future, these inspections will be available on-line at our website.



  3. Food Handler and Management training


    1. Answer: At least five (5) food handler classes are scheduled each month on different days and times to accommodate work schedules. The cost of the food handler classes is $20.00 cash and the fee is collected before the class begins during registration and picture taking for photo ID cards. Two (2) Spanish classes and one (1) Chinese class are scheduled in each 4-month period. Food Manager classes are held once a month at a cost of $90.00. Pre-registration is required for all classes

  4. Current Food Recalls


    1. Answer: The Environmental Health Protection division is provided recall information from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) as soon as they receive and verify information. Specific instructions are usually sent with the recall notice. In most cases, the recall information is FAXED to the appropriate establishments as directed by DHSS. In some cases, we are asked to visibly check establishments for recalled products and verify that they have been taken off shelves and no longer available to sell.

  5. Private Sewage Disposal Systems


    1. Answer: The Environmental Health Protection division issues permits for the installation of new on-site sewage disposal systems. Major repairs to existing systems also require a permit. In addition to installations and repairs, permits for accessory building additions (bedrooms, pools, barns, etc.) are necessary issued to ensure on-site systems are not compromised during the addition. Lot splits and subdivisions are also required to have division approval.
